Try these nutritious gram flour (or besan) cheelas with the additional nutrition of zucchini as a healthy breakfast alternative, or even any other meal of the day. This is a complete meal that contains carbohydrates, proteins and nutritious vegetables, making it an ideal and healthy breakfast.


For the cheela

• 2 cups besan/gram flour

• ½ cup zucchini grated

• Salt to taste

• Green chillies, finely chopped to taste

• ½ teaspoon red chillies

• 2 tablespoons oil

Tzatziki Dip

• 1 cup yoghurt

• ¼ cup chopped cucumber

• 1 tablespoon parsley

• Salt to taste

• 1 tablespoon tahini paste


For the cheela:

Mix all ingredients, except the oil, in a bowl.

Add enough water to make a batter of pancake consistency.

Pour a small amount of oil in a non-stick pan and heat the pan.

Spread one ladle full of batter on the pan evenly.

Let it cook on one side, apply a little oil on the upper side and with the help of a flat spatula flip it over.

Cook it on the other side too, and then continue cooking the rest of the cheela.

For Tzatziki dip:

Beat the yoghurt until thick and add chopped cucumber, tahini paste and chopped parsley.

Add salt to taste and serve it with Cheela.
